CONTROL ARM PIVOT SERVICE
The front upper and lower control arms feature
adjustable pivots. To utilize the adjustment feature, the
pivots
q
and
r
, pivot bushings
e
and spacers
w
must
be installed as shown. Replace components if damaged
or excessive wear is found.
NOTICE
Lower control arm pivots shown. Upper control arm
pivots similar.
When installing or adjusting the control arm pivots, push
the rear pivots forward prior to tightening the control arm
pivot flange nuts.
SPHERICAL BEARING REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the lower control arm.
2. Remove the retaining ring
q
from the bearing bore.
3. Using an Arbor press, press the bearing
w
out of the
bore.
4. Obtain a new bearing. Use an Arbor press to press on
the outer bearing race. Press the new bearing back
into the control arm until it is seated.
5. Install a new snap ring with the flat (sharp) edge out.
6. Reinstall the lower control arm.
