5. To fully release the white terminal lock, carefully insert
the small screwdriver into a slot next to the side
retaining tab on either side, and gently pry upward.
You may need to do this on both sides.
NOTICE
Once the white terminal lock is removed, the terminals
can fall out of position. Avoid excessive movement of
the harness/connector to ensure the terminals stay in
their locations.
6. Using a flashlight, identify any female terminals that
show signs of corrosion INSIDE the terminal.
7. Reinstall the terminal lock into the service position.
The top of the terminal lock will stand 0.15 in (3.8
mm) above the connector body in this position. You
will hear and feel a click once this position is reached.
8. Connect the handlebar connections connector and/or
the LH controls connector.
9. Install the resonator.
10.Install the hood and side panels.

NOTICE
The following components must use the terminal de-
pinning procedure when replacing components.
• LH Heater
• Handlebar Jumper
• RH Heater
• Throttle Control Assembly (Thumb Warmer)
• Auxiliary Stop Switch
• Throttle Switch
REMOVAL
1. Remove the side panels and hood.
2. Remove the resonator.
3. Remove the two push rivets securing the console
switch panel.
4. Carefully start removing console switch panel

disconnect the key switch connector from the key
switch
e
before completely removing the console
switch panel.
