•Failuretoconfiguretheproductwillpreventcorrectoperation.
•ConfigurationMUSTincludeprogrammingtheproductwithanMMSInumber.Insomeregions
(suchastheUnitedStates),theMMSImustbeprogrammedbyaqualifieddealerorinstaller.
•Incorrect/incompleteconfigurationcancauseerroneousdataandpreventyourproductfrom
transmitting.
•IfanMMSInumberisnotprogrammedtheproductwilloperateasanAISreceiveronlyandwill
nottransmitAISinformationforyourvessel.
5.2ObtainMMSI(MaritimeMobileServiceIdentity)number
BeforecommencinginstallationensureyouhaveobtainedanMMSInumberforyourvessel.Thisis
amandatoryrequirement.
AnMMSIisa9digitnumberwhichissentoveraradiofrequencychannelinordertoidentifythe
originatingvessel/station.IfyourvesselalreadyhasanMMSInumber(usedforaVHFDSCradio,for
example),thenthesameMMSInumbermustbeusedtoprogramyourproduct.
Note:
IfanMMSInumberisnotentered,yourproductcanonlybeusedinSilentModeandwilloperate
asareceiveronly .
IntheUnitedS tatesofAmerica(USA),theMMSIandStaticDatamustbeenteredonlybya
Raymarine®dealerorotherappropriatelyqualifiedinstallerofmarinecommunicationsequipmentfor
marinevessels.
IntheUSA,theuserisNOTauthorizedtodothis.
Insomeareas,aradiooperatorlicenceisrequiredbeforeanMMSInumberwillbeissued.Y oucan
requestanMMSInumberfromthesameagencythatissuesradioorShipRadiolicencesinyourarea.
InEuropeandotherpartsoftheworldoutsideoftheUnitedStatesofAmerica,theMMSIandStatic
datacanbesetupbytheuser.
