Raymarine AIS700 Installation Instructions

WiththeproAIS2softwareopenonyourPC:
1.SelecttheAISdevicefromthedropdownlistatthetopofthepage .
2.Click
Connect.
3.Enteryourvessel’sdetails,includingMMSIintherelevantfields.
4.Selecta VesselTypeappropriateforyourvesselfromthedropdownlist.
5.Ensurethatthebuilt-inGNSSreceiverisnotoutputtingsentences(i.e.ensureGGA,GLLand
RMCboxesarenotticked).
TheGNSSreceiverbuilt-intotheAIS700isintendedtoprovideGNSSdatatotheAISunitonly,
outputtingthisdatacancausedataconflicts.Theabilitytooutputthesesentencesisintendedfor
diagnosticspurposesonly.
6.Enteryourvessel’ sdimensionsandGNSS(GPS)antennalocationintherelevantfields.
7.IfrequiredsetthebaudrateforyourNMEA0183ports.
8.Click
WriteConfigurationtosaveyourconfigurationsettings.
9.Click Disconnect.
VHFantennarequirements
ImportantrequirementsrelatedtothetypeandspecificationoftheVHFantennaforyourAISunit.

oensureoptimumantennaperformance,adheretothefollowingguidelines:
•TheuseofawidebandVHFantennaishighlyrecommended,ratherthananAIS-onlyantenna.
•TheAIS700requiresawidebandantennatoprovidegoodperformanceforboththeAIS
transceiverandaconnectedVHFradioutilisingtheAIS700'sintegratedantennasplitter.
•UsingaVHFantennaoptimizedforonlyAISfrequencyoperationmaypermanentlydamagethe
AIS700,asVHFradiotransmissionsarereflectedbackintotheAIS700duetothepoorimpedance
matchoftheVHFantennaoperatingatVHFradiofrequencies.
