TheRSW-WiredSmartWindtransducerisaprecisioninstrument,combininga
highperformanceAHRS3Dsensorwithintelligentonboarddataprocessing
—noexternalprocessingunitrequired.Theintegrateddesignprovidesa
greatlysimplifiedinstallationandlow-latencyvaneresponsetimes.
TheRSW-WiredSmartWindtransducerhasthefollowingfeatures:
•3DsensorandSmartWindtechnologydeliverimprovedwindspeedand
directionstabilityfromtacktotack,bycompensatingfor:
–Boatspeed.
–Leeway.
–Masttwistandbend.
–Mastrotation.

3.2SmartWindTransducercompatibility
TheSmartWindtransducerusesNMEA2000PGN130306totransmitwind
datatothenetwork.AnyRaymarine®orthirdpartyinstrumentdisplay/MFD
(chartplotter)capableofreceivingthisPGNcandisplaytheSmartWind
transducer’swinddata.
However,tobenefitfromthefullrangeoffeaturesavailablewiththeSmart
Windtransducer,additionaldatasourcesarerequired.
UsingtheSmartWindtransducerinnon-Raymarinesystems
WhenusingtheSmartWindtransduceronanNMEA2000networkwhich
containsonlythird-party(non-Raymarine®)equipment,thefollowinglistof
restrictionsapplies:
•LeewayandSaileffect(upwashcalculation)correctionswhichareenabled
bydefaultcannotbedisabled.
•Rotatingmastconfigurationsettingswhicharedisabledbydefaultcannot
beenabled.
•InthescenariothatnovesselheadingdataisavailableonyourNMEA
2000network(e.g.fromaheadingsensor)andyourmultifunctiondisplay
/chartplotterisnotabletoapplyamanualvaneoffsetangle,thewind
transducermustbeinstalleddirectlyonthemastcenterline.Thisis
becauseanoffsetanglecannotbeappliedtoaccountforthedifference
betweenthemast’scenterlineandthewindtransducer’sinstallationangle.
