Thepointalongthebackbonewherethepowerconnectionshouldbemade
isbasedonthelengthofthebackbone.

Thepowerconnectionmustbeconnectedtoawhitespurconnectionon
thebackbone.
DoNOTconnectthepowerconnectiontoabluebackboneconnector.
ExcludingtheiTC-5,doNOTconnectthepowerconnectiondirectlyto
aproduct’swhitespurconnector.
Smallsystems
Ifthebackbonelengthis60m(197ft)orless,thepowerconnectionpoint
maybeconnectedatanypointinthebackbone.
Largesystems
Ifthebackbonelengthisgreaterthan60m(197ft),thepowerconnection
pointshouldbeconnectedatapointthatcreatesabalancedcurrentdraw
fromeachsideofthebackbone.TheLoadEquivalencyNumber(LEN)isused
todeterminethepowerconnectionpointforthesystem.
IntheexampleabovethesystemhasanoverallLENof16,sotheoptimum
connectionpointwouldbetohave8LENeithersideoftheconnectionpoint.
