T-one ULS
Rev. 06/18 2/26
Intended use of the device
The T-one ULS tension adjustment system has been designed to be integrated, embedded, within an
industrial plant.
The instrument features a front panel to control the adjustment parameters and to program and calibrate the
instrument itself.
The T-one ULS automatic adjustment system is used to update the torque of a brake or clutch based on the
diameter value of the reel, by performing a servo diameter open loop adjustment. The “Taper tension”
function (described in the following sections) lets you set the progress of the torque in relation to the
diameter.
The T-one ULS regulator acquires an analogue signal called “diameter reference”, that can be supplied by an
ultrasound sensor (e.g. US3), from the potentiometer of a feeler roller or from any distance sensor (the
accepted signals are 0÷10Vdc or 4÷20mA), processes it and based on this and the setpoint set, it updates the
torque on the brake/clutch.
Adjustment with unwinder: When the diameter is at the maximum level, the output set on the brake has the
setpoint set, during the unwinding of the reel the torque decreases proportionally to the diameter based on
the “Taper tension” settings, until the minimum diameter is reached. If the reel in use has a larger range in
diameter and in weight, you can manage up till three different braking sections (appropriately configured)
through the “Selematic” function.
Adjustment with rewinder: When the diameter is at the minimum level, the output on the clutch has the
value processed proportionally to the diameter and/or based on the “Taper tension” settings, during the
rewinding of the reel the torque increases proportionally to the diameter based on the “Taper tension”
settings, until (at the maximum diameter) the setpoint set is reached
The device is not suitable to work outside, in corrosive, explosive or highly dusty environments.
