Service Guide for DS1000E, DS1000D Series

P/F Interface Test
Purpose:
Test if P/F interface work normally.
Tools:
 A set of DS1000E, DS1000D series digital oscilloscope
 A BNC cable
Steps:
1. Power on the DS1000E and DS1000D respectively.
2. Connect the P/F interface at the rear panel of the DS1000E and the CH1 channel
of the DS1000D using the BNC cable.

3. Turn on the oscilloscope, press Storage → Storage → Factory to recall the
factory settings.
4. Press Utility→Pass/fail to enter the setting interface of Pass/Fail, see the table
below.

5. After setting, press Operate to start Pass/Fail test.
6. When the test failed, observe the CH1 channel of the DS1000D. If a pulse
waveform is displayed, it indicates that the interface works normally. If there is no
response, errors might be happened to the interface. At this point, you need to
inspect or mend the interface.
7. Using the same method to test if P/F interface of the DS1000D work normally.
