PROGRAM SOURCE CONNECTIONS
Record player
The PHONO inputs accept the outputs of a record player with a
moving-magnet (MM)-type cartridge.
Tuner
The TUNER inputs accept tuner outputs.
Tape recorders
Two pairs of tape recorder jacks are provided for making two recor 
dings simultaneously or for direct tape duplication :
TAPE 1 and 2 for playing back tapes, and REC OUT 1 and 2 for
recording tapes.
NOTE ON THE CORD CRAMP
Run the power cord and the speaker cords through this cord cramp.
Keep these cords away from the ferrite-bar antenna of a tuner to
avoid possible noise pickup. Do not run the connecting cords for
the program sources together with the power cord or speaker cord
through the cord cramp, as this will cause hum pickup.
GROUND CONNECTION
To prevent hum, be sure to connect the ground wire of the record
player to the amplifier ground terminal. If hum still exists, it may
be helpful to connect the ground terminal directly to earth via a
ground rod.
AC OUTLET
You can connect the audio components.
Notes on ac power cord and ac outlets
The four groups of ac power cord plugs and ac outlets on your
amplifier rear panel are illustrated below :
* The ac outlet on the amplifier can supply ac power to the following com 
ponents :
Tuner : ST-JX2L
Turntable : PS-LX2, PS-LX5
Tape decks : TC-FX2, TC-FX6
** Use the plug adaptor to connect the amplifier to an ac outlet in the house.
However, when making power connections among the Sony components, this
adaptor is not needed.
