Before
plugging
in
or
attemting
to
operate
this
amplifier,
it
is
suggested
that
you
familiarize
yourself
with
all
its
switches
and
controls
and
the
purpose
of
each.
Each
number
in
the
photo
is
keyed
to
the
descriptive
text.
O
POWER
Switch
Turns
the
operating
power
on
or
off.
0
HEADPHONES
Jack
Accepts
any
low
or
high
impedance
stereo
headphones.
For
headphone
monitoring
only,
set
the
SPEAKERS
selector
to
OFF.

SPEAKERS
Selector
Selects
speaker
system
A
or
B,
or
both.
A
+
B
:
To
drive
speaker
systems
A
and
B
simultaneously.
A:
To
drive
speaker
system
A.
OFF:
To
cut
off
the
speaker
sound.
B:
To
drive
speaker
system
B.

BASS
and
TREBLE
TONE
Controls
These
knobs
control
the
prominence
of
bass
and
treble
response.
Clockwise
rotation
increases
response
;
counterclockwise
rota
tion
decreases
it.
Normally
keep
these
at
the
0
position.
Adjust
the
tone
to
the
acoustic
condition
of
the
listening
room
or
to
your
preference.
©
BALANCE
Control
Governs
the
amount
of
sound
coming
from
each
paired
speaker
to
get
optimum
stereo
effect.
When
you
turn
the
BALANCE
control
to
the
right,
the
left
channel
volume
is
decreased,
and
vice
versa.
©LOW
FILTER
Switch
If
subsonic
noise
components
created
by
warped
records,
etc.
are
present,
the
audible
range
frequencies
may
be
modulated
and
cause
irritating
intermodulation
distortion.
In
this
case,
press
the
switch
to
XX
ON
position
to
reduce
unwanted
noise
components
in
the
program
source.
The
filter
will
cut
off
any
input
signals
below
50
Hz
at
a
6-dB-per-octave
rate
(VOLUME
control
5
position).
If
there
is
no
need
for
the
use
of
a
filter,
set
the
LOW
FILTER
switch
to
H
off
.
O
LOUDNESS
Switch
Normally
keep
the
switch
released
(
l~l
OFF).
When
listening
to
program
sources
at
a
low
VOLUME
control
setting,
depress
the
switch
(xxON).
This
loudness
control
compensates
for
the
human
ear
s
decreased
response
to
very
low
frequency
sound
at
low
volume
levels,
and
provides
an
apparently
uniform
response.
The
effect
of
this
con
trol
gradually
decreases
as
the
volume
is
increased
by
the
VOLUME
control.

Function
Switches
Depress
one
of
these
switches
to
select
a
desired
program
source.
The
built-in
light
of
the
depressed
switch
will
light
up,
indicating
the
program
in
use.

:
For
phonograph
record
programs
(connected
to
PHONO
inputs)
TAPE

:
For
listening
to
taped
programs
from
the
tape
recorder
1
(connected
to
the
TAPE
1
jacks)
or
dubbing
from
tape
recorder

(connected
to
the
REC
OUT
1
jacks)
to
tape
recorder

nected
to
the
TAPE

jacks)
TAPE

:
For
listening
to
taped
programs
from
the
tape
recorder

to
the
TAPE

or

Control
Regulates
the
overall
sound
level.
Clockwise
rotation
of
the
VOLUME
control
increases
the
sound
level
and
counterclockwise
rotation
decreases
the
volume.
Be
sure
to
lower
the
volume
whenever
you
turn
the
amplifier
on
or
off,
or
make
system
connections.
