Diesel Engine
Belt replacement: Diesel Engine
1. Loosen the tensioning lever nut.
2. Insert a proper lever as shown and push
downwards to pull out the bolt.
3. Lift up the lever to release the tension
of the tensioning spring and to take off
the belt.
WARNING
The engine could inadvertently start
while checking the belt and cause
moving parts to crush or cut. Remove
key from ignition switch.
BRAKE PEDAL
Checking pedal free play
Turn off the engine and depress the brake
pedal several times to deplete the vacuum
in the brake system. Gently depress the
brake pedal by hand and measure the dis-
tance it moves until slight resistance is felt.
If the free play is more or less than specified,
have the brakes adjusted by a Ssangyong
Dealer or Ssangyong Authorized Service
Operation.

DRIVE BELT
You do not need extra tension adjustment,
but check belt for wear or tension by push-
ing the belt and replace if necessary.
Belt replacement: Gasoline Engine
Install a device onto the tension adjuster and
rotate clockwise to release the tension and
take off the belt.
