7.4 LGC Board
7.4.1 Features
(1) The image processing section on the LGC board is controlled by the CPU mounted on the LGC
board.
(2) The image processing functions of the LGC board realizes the followings:
• Smoothing processing
• External input system interface
• Image area control
• Laser related control
• Printer high quality processing
7.4.2 Functions of image processing circuit
The image processing section mounted on the LGC board realizes the followings:
(1) Smoothing processing
This function removes jagginess and smoothes character outline of images input from the exter-
nal input system interface, and output them.
(2) External input system interface
This function controls the input of the input interface.
(3) Image area control
This function sets the effective image area in horizontal and vertical directions to be output.
(4) Laser related control
This function performs the APC (Auto Power Control).
(5) Printer high quality processing
This function reproduces the image signals output from the printer controller sharper.
