The system has two operating modes:
Operation without a configurator
All functions are controlled by means of the dip-switch set-
tings and using the MASTER and/or SLAVE smart cards.
Operation with a configurator and PDA
(IrDA interface)
All functions are controlled by means of a PDA.
Operation
Operation without a configurator
The system can function in two ways:
1. Device and access control in the hotel sec-
tor:
- Operation with a MASTER smart card (2 levels) - see
ch. 4, pg. 15.
A smart card programmed as a MASTER is needed to per-
form any operation (initialising, programming, duplicating,
cancelling, changing the code, synchronising readers).
2. Device and access control in the residential
and services sectors:
- Operation without a MASTER smart card (1 level) - see
ch. 5, pg. 24.
All enabled smart cards can be used to perform any
operation (initialising, programming, duplicating, cancelling,
changing the code, synchronising readers).
