Sleeve thermostats, replacing
Special tools: 999 6863

Remove the old sealing rings by tapping them down with
a suitable drift.
Note: Do this carefully so as not to damage the sealing ring
contact surfaces in the housing.

Fit the new sealing ring to drift 999 6863
Note: Fit the sealing ring with the wide metal edge facing up-
ward.
Drain the coolant.

Remove the pipe between the thermostat housing and the
upper radiator hose. Push the pipe to one side.

Remove the pipe between the coolant pump and the thermo-
stat housing.

Remove the thermostat housing.
5
Remove the thermostats and the O-rings.
