Paper and Media Overview
The printer can have up to six paper trays:
• Trays 1 and 2 are adjustable paper trays for loading a range of paper sizes.
• Trays 3 and 4 are high-capacity trays that can hold A4, Letter, JIS B5, and Executive size paper.
• Tray 5 or the Bypass Tray is designed for loading small amounts of special paper.
• Tray 6 is an optional high-capacity paper tray that holds A4, Letter, JIS B5, or Executive size paper.
The optional Envelope Tray can replace Tray 1. For more information, refer to the Hardware Install and Setup
Instructions that are included with the Envelope Tray kit.
The printer can use various media types, such as plain, recycled paper, letterhead, pre-printed paper, cardstock,
labels, transparencies, and envelopes. Ensure that you use the correct media for the tray that you are loading. You
can load all types of media in Bypass Tray, excluding labels. For details on supported paper types and weights, refer
to Supported Paper Types and Weights.
WWaarrnniinngg:: Printing labels from the following trays can cause misfeeds and other print problems:
• Tray 5 - Bypass Tray
• Tray 6 - High Capacity Feeder
Labels inside each tray show the correct orientation for loading certain types of media. The MAX label shows the
maximum fill line for the tray.
