BRAKE HOSE INSPECTION
1.lnspect:
• Brake hose(s)
Cracks/wear/damage
-7
Replace.
2.Check:
• Brake hose clamp(s)
Loose
-7
Tighten.
3.Hold the motorcycle
upright
and apply
the
front
or
rear brake.
4.Check:
• Brake hose(s)
Activate the brake lever several times.
Brake
fluid
leakage
-7
Replace the faulty
hose.
Refer
to
"FRONT BRAKE" in
CHAPTER
6.

AIR BLEEDING (HYDRAULIC BRAKE
SYSTEM)
A WARNING
Bleed
the
brake system whenever:
•
the
system
is
disassembled
• a brake hose
is
loosened
or
removed
•
the
brake
fluid
level is very
low
• brake operation
is
faulty
If
the
brake system
is
not
properly
bled, a
loss
of
braking performance
may
occur.
1.Bleed:
• Brake system

Air
bleeding steps:
a.Fill the reservoir
with
the proper brake
fluid.
b.lnstall the diaphragm.
Be
careful
not
to
spill any fluid
or
allow
the reservoir
to
overflow.
c.Connect a clear plastic hose
CD
tightly
to
the caliper bleed screw
®.
d.Place the other end
of
the hose into a con-
tainer.
e.Slowly apply the brake lever several
times.
f. Pull the lever in. Hold the lever in position.
