Battery (04_14, 04_15)
•
Remove the saddle.
•
Check that the cable terminals
and battery leads are:
- in good conditions (not corroded or cov-
ered by deposits);
- covered by neutral grease or petroleum
jelly.
If necessary:
•
Make sure the ignition switch is
set to "key off".
•
Disconnect the negative lead (-)
first and then the positive one
(+).
•
Brush with a metal bristle brush
to remove all signs of corrosion.
•
Remove the battery breather
pipe.
•
Remove the battery from its
housing and put it on a level sur-
face in a cool and dry place.
Accu (04_14, 04_15)
•
Verwijder het zadel.
•
Controleer of de terminals van
de kabels en de klemmen van
de accu:
- zich in goede condities bevinden (en
niet verroest zijn of bedekt zijn met afzet-
tingen);
- bedekt zijn met neutraal vet of vaseline.
Indien nodig:
•
Controleer of de ontstekings-
schakelaar zich in de positie
"key off" bevindt.
•
Maakt men eerst de negatieve
kabel (-) en daarna de positieve
kabel (+) los.
•
Borstelt men met een metalen
borstel om elk spoor van roest te
elimineren.
•
Verwijder het ontluchtingsbuisje
van de accu.
