4. Initial commissioning
4.1 Fitting the storage battery
WARNING -- Danger of explosion when
charging the storage battery!
Burns and injury can be caused if the storage
battery explodes from improper charging!
¶ Only use the batteries designated for
DCU 220.
¶ Only use the storage battery charging sta-
tion designated for DCU 220.
¶ Only use the power supply unit specified
for the DCU 220.
¶ Heed the notes on disposal.
¶ Storage battery must not be heated,
burnt, short-circuited, mechanically da-
maged and charged with excessively high
currents or reverse polarity!
¶ Suitable extinguishing agents: water, CO
2
sand.
Open the cover for the storage battery ( on the left
or on the right side) that you want to insert.
1. Push the cover lock into unlocked position ( ) ().
2. Push the cover upward ().
3. Open the cover.

4. Push the storage battery completely into the com-
partment with the labeling upward.
5. Push the storage battery lock to the left into locked
position; make sure not to pull on the ribbon.

6. Close the cover and push it downward until it locks
in place.
7. Then push the lock into locked position ( ).
! The lock can only engage if the cover is snapped
in. The lock must be securely engaged so that the
bottom, red part cannot be seen.

On/off key
Turns the system on or off. (for further
information, see the user manual).
Up key
R Increases the volume.
R If FL is active: Increases the bright-
ness of the LCD screen.
Down key
R Reduces the volume.
R If FL is active: Decreases the bright-
ness of the LCD screen.
13 Close the
top cover
Locks the top cover.
14 Touchpad As a substitute for the mouse to move
the cursor and operate the computer in
laptop mode. The touchpad is a rectan-
gular pad with a left and right button.

Not lit DCU 220 switched off
Green light DCU 220 switched on
Flashing green DCU 220 is in standby mode; reactivate by
pressing the on/off key
Storage battery LED
Status Function / significance
Green light The storage battery is fully charged and con-
nected to the cable current.
Yellow light The storage battery is charged.
Flashing
yellow
There is a problem with charging
the storage battery. If this occurs, change the
storage battery.
Flashing red The storage-battery capacity charge is below
10%
Hard disk LED
Status Function / significance
Flashing green DCU 220 is accessing the hard disk.
LED Caps Lock
Status Function / significance
Green light The Caps Lock key is activated.
HF LED
Status Function / significance
Green light The transmitter or a wireless function
(WLAN/BT/WWAN) is turned on
