7.2 Universal Send and Fax Options
7.2.1 Universal Send Trace & Smooth PDF Kit
• Enables the user to convert the text and line drawings of a scanned image to
scalable outline data. The outline data (Trace) can be extracted and used in
Adobe Illustrator. The smoothing process smoothes out the text of the outline
data to make it appear less jagged when viewed on a computer monitor or in
print.
• Requires license activation via the LMS.
7.2.2 Universal Send Security Feature Set
• Enables the user to encrypt PDF and Digital Device Signature PDF/XPS files,
as well as set a password to send them safely to a file server or e-mail address.
• Enables the recipient of a PDF or Digital Device Signature PDF/XPS file to
verify which device scanned the file.
• Requires license activation via the LMS.
• Standard on the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5500 II Series.
7.2.3 Universal Send Digital User Signature Kit
• Enables the user to add a digital user signature obtained from a certificate
authority to a PDF or XPS file. This enables the recipient of a PDF or XPS file
to verify which user signed it.
• Requires license activation via the LMS.
