Installing the optional serial COM port
Prerequisites
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system.
3. Remove the PCIe blank from the rear of the system.
Steps
1. Align and insert the serial COM port into the slot on the system until firmly seated.
2. Connect the serial port cable to the connector on the system board.
NOTE: Route the cable properly when you replace it to prevent the cable from being pinched or crimped.
