Encryption Pass Phrase

The EFX48 unit always uses AES-128 for encryption of
SNMPv3 messages and the NMS must be configured
to use the correct username, password and pass
phrase combination.

To send alarms as SNMP traps
13 Set up Ethernet communications (see details on page 83).
14 In a web browser go to
Users (User Accounts)
.
15 Set the following parameters:
V3 Trap Sender User
(User Account- tab)
Set one user account as “trap sender” for V3 traps, by
setting “Access” to “trap sender”. (Not needed for V1
and V2c)
Trap Type:
(Comms tab)
None: Traps are not sent.
v1, v2c: traps are sent in v1 or v2c format
v3: Traps are sent as encrypted SNMP v3 traps.
Trap Repeat (min) Configure as appropriate.
16 For each SNMP trap receiver (up to 8), configure the following parameters.

Address type None or IPv4 is chosen. Select ‘None’ if this trap sender entry is not used.
Select ‘IPv4’ and configure the IP address of the receiving server to enable
sending of trap messages.
IP Address IP address of the trap receiver assigned by the network administrator.
Web Access Security
Server Access
Access to the EFX48 web server can be set for secure access using TLSv1.2 or unencrypted
HTTP. TLS is enabled by default from the factory.
HTTP(S), or Hypertext Transfer Protocol (Secure), is a method of transmitting the
Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) over a secure communication network, and is widely
used on the Internet for security with websites. In HTTP(S), the HTTP communication
protocol is encrypted using Transport Layer Security.
