Creating a Backup of Essential Access Software
When you purchased your new syste m, a “Fujitsu Software Extractor” shortcut was loaded to
“C:\Fujitsu\Drivers\AutoInstaller\”. This s hor tcut allows you to s ave the software driver packages
along with the extracted A uto Installer software package to a selected location. It is recommended
that you save these packages to writable med ia or an extern al drive. This ensures th at in the
event of system failure you will be able to re-install the essential access software.
1. Open the C:\Fujitsu\Drivers\AutoInstaller\ folder
2. R u n “Fujitsu Softw are Extractor” a s an Administrator
a. Right-click on Fujitsu Software Extractor.
b. Select the “Run as Administrator” option from the menu that is displayed.
3. T he default save location is C:\Fujitsu\ AutoIn staller\ Drivers\. You can change the location
by clicking on the Browse button and selecting you r preferred lo cation.
Note: It is recommended that you chang e the default location and save the
software packages to the external writable media or drive.
4. C lick on the Save Packages butto n.
5. F ujitsu Software Extractor copies the zipped so ftware packages and Readme files,
and extracts the Auto Installer folder to t he selected location.
Note: The extracted Auto Installer will later be used to install the s oftwa re
automatically on the system in the event of generic image restoration when
the software is not pre-installed in the image.

Using the Recovery and Utility Tools
The Recovery and Utility tools consist of a variety of tools that will help you recover your
recovery image and system images, and delete the da ta from your hard disk.
Methods for accessing the utilities
Recovery and Utility Tools are preinstalled in a hidden partition by the factory, or
they can be accessed by using the bootable disk.
Note: T he Recovery and Utility tools m ay be deleted from yo ur hard disk
drive if you modify the partitions. If tha t occurs, y ou will not be able to
use the hidden partition for bo oting to Re covery and Utility Tools, but you
will still be able to boot from the Bootable Disk.
