Chapter 4
DRIVING
Description
The Descent Control System (DCS) is only for driving down steep gradients, it
maintains the slow speed descent of your vehicle.
The descent control system works in conjunction with the cruise control system and
utilises the active braking capability of the vehicle’s Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to
maintain a target vehicle speed when travelling downhill.
DCS on
The descent control system can be used
when driving forward or in reverse.
The descent control system is activated
using the switch located on the right hand
side of the digital clock.
The accelerator pedal must not be
depressed when DCS is activated.
The green DCS active indicator will
illuminate when switched on. When the
DCS is operating the DCS active indicator
will ash.
Note
•
If the amber DCS (not ready/warning)
indicator illuminates it indicates there
is a malfunction in the DCS system.
If this condition occurs, contact your
Holden Dealer.
•
If the driver needs to stop on a slope or
go slower than 5 km/h, the brake pedal
can be depressed, it will momentarily
deactivate the DCS. It will re-activate
a few seconds after the brake pedal is
released.
DCS off
To deactivate the DCS, press the DCS button again the DCS active indicator
will extinguish.
