To remove and replace the I/O board assembly
The HP-IB cable is not part of the I/O board.

Using previous procedures, remove the following assemblies:

Covers
•
Rear Fan
•
CPU Board
2 Remove three screws that secure the power supply cover plate to the rear panel.
Remove the power supply cover plate.
3 Remove four screws along the bottom and four screws along the top of the rear
panel. Note that two screws along the top are longer, and are used to secure the
power supply to the mainframe.
4 Remove three screws on the back of the rear panel that secure the rear panel to the
center rib. Remove the rear panel from the mainframe.
5 Disconnect the I/O ribbon cable from the I/O board assembly.
6 Remove the jackscrews from the RS-232-C and parallel printer ports.
7 Remove four screws that secure the I/O Board assembly to the rear panel.
8 Reverse this procedure to install the replacement I/O board. Note that the strap
handle is installed on the CRT side of the mainframe.
