Power button and ngerprint sensor boards
NOTE: A ngerprint sensor is available only on select models.
If a ngerprint sensor is installed, the power button board and ngerprint sensor board are wired together
into one assembly, located at the bottom right of the computer. If the ngerprint sensor is not installed, you
can remove the power button board using the following steps but omitting the ngerprint sensor steps.
To remove the power button and ngerprint sensor boards:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 23).
2. Remove the rear port cover (see Removing the rear port cover on page 23).
3. Remove the stand (see Stands on page 24).
4. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 25).
5. Remove the Torx screw from the power button board bracket (1), and two Phillips screws from the
ngerprint sensor board (2).
6. Lift the boards from the computer.
