4. A New Hardware Wizard may appear after rebooting while the system updates all the
drivers, if it does not continue to step 9.
5. Click Next at the Add New Hardware Wizard screen.
6. Press Next to search for drivers for your hardware.
7. When asked for the location of the drivers, clear ALL the check boxes and press
Next.
8. The dialog box will show that the INTEL driver was found, press Next.
9. Click Finish.
10. If asked to reboot, click YES.
To install Microsoft hot fix support
If you have installed retail Windows you need to install the Microsoft hot fix. The driver
is contained in the \HP\DRIVERS\QFE\SHUTDOWN subdirectory on the Recovery CD.
To install the Microsoft hot fix:
1. Run 4756US8.EXE from the driver directory on your Recovery CD
(\\HP\DRIVERS\QFE\SHUTDOWN).
2. Follow the onscreen directions to complete installation.
3. Upon successful completion you will be asked to reboot your computer, choose YES
if you have no other drivers to install. Otherwise, choose NO and continue to next
step.
To install DirectX 7.0a support (Microsoft)
Microsoft DirectX 7.0a must be installed prior to installing the ATI video driver support
on the HP notebook.
To install or upgrade the DirectX driver:
1. Run DX70AOPK.EXE from the driver directory on your Recovery CD
(\HP\DRIVERS\DIRECTX).
When all hard drive activities stop, continue to next step.
