Installing Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows
Small Business Server 2003
Windows 2003 Pre-installation Instructions
NOTE: For ease of reading, both “Microsoft Windows Server 2003” and “Microsoft Windows Small
Business Server 2003” will be referred to as “Windows 2003” in this chapter; the HP ProLiant ML110
Server Startup CD-ROM will be simply referred to as the Startup CD.
1. Complete the pre-NOS installation procedures listed in Chapter 1.
2. Have the following installation requirements on hand:
HP ProLiant ML110 Server Startup CD-ROM
Microsoft Windows 2003 CD-ROM
Six blank, formatted 3.5-inch diskettes
A Windows PC that has a:
— Floppy drive
— CD-ROM drive
Browser that supports HTML
Two or more clients for testing purpose (optional)
Windows 2003 Installation Flow
1. Create the driver diskettes using the Startup CD.
2. Install Microsoft Windows 2003.
3. Complete the installation—install the drivers for the Intel and LAN chipsets.
4. Configure the system.
5. Configure the network.
6. Install additional HP accessories.
