METHOD FOR REPLACING BRAKE OIL FILTER CARTRIDGE
(Only for the machine with brake cooling system)
WARNING
Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn injury.
Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
Items to be prepared
• Container to catch the drained oil
• Filter wrench
1.
Loosen the bolts (1) (6 pieces) under the component box,
and open the cover (2).
2.
Place a container under the filter cartridge (3) to catch the
drained oil.
3.
Turn the filter cartridge (3) counterclockwise by using the
filter wrench, and remove it.
4.
Clean the filter head.
5.
Check that cap (A) is installed to the new filter cartridge,
and pour the clean oil to the cartridge.
NOTICE
Always fill with clean oil. Take care to prevent the dust
from entering.
Pour the oil through small holes (B) (8 places) (dirty
side). Cap (A) prevents the dirty oil from entering clean
side. Cap (A) should always be used when pouring the
oil.
6.
Apply the oil to the packing surface of the filter cartridge.
7.
Remove filter cartridge cap (A) and install it to the filter head.
Tightening torque: 35 to 41 Nm {3.6 to 4.2 kgm}
8.
Start the engine.
Run the engine at low idle for a while.
9.
Check that the oil level is correct by referring to “METHOD FOR CHECKING OIL LEVEL IN AXLE CASE
AND ADDING OIL (4-25)”.
10.
Check the brake oil filter for oil leakage.
11.
Close the cover (2) and fix it with bolts (1).
