13.109Removing the oil filter x
Warning
Danger of scalding Engine oil and gear oil get very hot when the motorcycle is ridden.
– Wear appropriate protective clothing and safety gloves. In case of burns, rinse immediately with lukewarm water.
Warning
Environmental hazard Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.
– Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.
– Place a suitable container under the engine.

– Remove screws . Remove oil filter cover with the O-ring.

– Pull the oil filter insert out of the oil filter casing.
Circlip pliers reverse (51012011000)
– Completely drain the engine oil.
– Thoroughly clean parts and sealing surface.
13.110Installing the oil filter x

– Lay the motorcycle on its side and fill the oil filter housing to about ⅓ full with
engine oil.
– Fill oil filter with engine oil and place it in the oil filter container.
– Lubricate O-ring of the oil filter cover.

– Mount oil filter cover .
– Mount and tighten screws .
Guideline
Screw, oil filter cover M5 6 Nm (4.4 lbf ft)
– Stand the motorcycle up.
