17.6 Teaching the throttle valve position

If the control unit detects that the throttle valve position at idle speed needs to be retaught, then the mal-
function indicator lamp flashes 2x per second.

Danger of poisoning Exhaust gases are toxic and inhal-
ing them may result in unconsciousness and death.
– Always make sure there is sufficient ventilation
when running the engine.
– Use effective exhaust extraction when starting or
running the engine in an enclosed space.
– Allow the vehicle to run at idle speed.
The malfunction indicator lamp stops flashing once teach-
ing is completed.

If the engine becomes too hot, perform a cool-down
ride at medium revs.
Then do not switch off the engine after this, but leave it
running at idle speed until teaching is completed.
17.7 Checking the basic position of the shift lever
Info
When driving, the shift lever must not touch the rider's boot when in the basic position.
When the shift lever keeps touching the boot, the transmission will be subject to an excessive load.
