the

shaft

clockwise

a screwdriver and
tighten
the
governor
lever
mounting
nut
(3)
in
that
position.
3.
Start
the
engine. and attach a tachometer
to
the
engine.
4.
Turn
the
high
speed adjusting screw (4)
wi~h
the
scre.w
tip
touching
the
speed control lever (5)
to
obtain
the
maximum
no-load speed.

• IMPORTANT
•
Adjust
the
carburetor
as
instructed
below
when
idle
speed
is
unstable
or
if
speed increase during
rapid
acceleration
is
unsmooth.
1.
Warm
up
the
engine
at
a
medium
speed
for
20
to
30 minutes,
and
then
stop
the
engine.
2. Screw
in
the
pilot
screw (1)
of
the
carburetor completely. and
then
unscrew
it
by
1
to
1.5 turns .
• NOTE
• Screw
in
the
pilot
screw (1) using a small
screwdriver
[100
to
125
mm
(4
to
5 in.) ] .
•
As
the
needle
at
the
top
of
the
pilot
screw
is
broken
if
too
much force is applied,
tightening
torque
must
be 0.1 N·m
(0.01
kgf·m,
0.07
ft-Ibs)
Or
less.
3.
Start
the
engine. and set
the
speed
control
lever
to
the
lowest
speed position.
4.
Adjust
the
engine speed
with
the
throttle
stopper adjusting
screw (3)
of
the
carburetor
to
maintain
the
lowest
engine
speed possible
while
still running.
5.
Screw
or
unscrew
the
pilot
screw (1)
to
adjust
the
idling
speed
to
the
highest speed.
6.
After
the
pilot
screw'
is
correctly
adjusted.
attach
a
tachometer
to
the
engi ne.
7.
Turn
the
throttle
stopper adjusting screw (3)
with
the
screw
tip
touching
the
throttle
lever (2).
until
the
crankshaft speed
reaches approx. 1200 rpm.
