BAdjusting Alternator Belt Tension
To avoid personal injury or death:
A Be sure to stop the engine before checking belt
tension.
1. Stop the engine and remove the key.
2. Apply moderate thumb pressure to belt between
pulleys.
3. If tension is incorrect, loosen the alternator mounting
bolts and, using a lever placed between the alternator
and the engine block, pull the alternator out until the
deflection of the belt falls within acceptable limits.
4. Replace alternator belt if it is damaged.
BAdjusting Brake Pedal
[F8/R8 model]
To avoid personal injury or death:
A Stop the engine and chock the wheels before
checking brake pedal.
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Slightly depress the brake pedals and measure free
travel at the top of pedal stroke.
3. If adjustment is needed, loosen the lock nut and turn
the turnbuckle to adjust the rod length within
acceptable limits.
4. Retighten the lock nut.
Proper alternator
belt tension
A deflection of between 10 to 12 mm
(0.39 to 0.47 in.) when the belt is
pressed in the middle of the span.

40 to 45 mm (1.6 to 1.8 in.) on
the pedal
Keep the free travel in the right
and left brake pedals equal.
