(4) Replacing Air cleaner element
(Dry type)
z Remove the cover and pull out the primary filter
element straight out.
z Clean the inside of the air cleaner housing using
a clean damp cloth.
z Check if there is damage inside filter element by
using a light. If there is tiny crack or small hole in
the filter element or the gasket is damaged,
replace it with a new one.
z Insert the filter element by pushing it deeply into
the filter housing.
z Remove the dust of the evacuator valve and
clean the inside of the cover.
z Assemble the cover with the evacuator valve
placed downward.
▶ Do not start the engine or close the hood if the filter element is not assembled..Notice
(3) Tension adjustment of Fan belt
z Check the tension of fan belt. If it’s not normal,
loosen the bolt and adjust the tension.
- Belt tension : crank shaft pulley ~ water pump
pulley
- Normal : approx. 10~12mm (0.4~0.5 in.)
(if pressed by 98 N (22 lbf))
z When adjusting the tension,
1. loosen two locking bolts of alternator and bolt of
adjusting plate slightly
2. Tighten or loose the tension bolt to apply the
standard tension to the belt.
3. Tighten the locking bolts of alternator and
adjusting plate.
