INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
Regularly scheduled inspection and maintenance intervals
are required to keep the crane in peak operating condition.
The following pages outline the inspection and maintenance
intervals.
Refer to Maintenance Checklist - Aerial Lift, page 9-1 for
additional information relating to Aerial Lift ANSI/SAIA
A92.2-2015 inspections and maintenance intervals.
Refer to the Service Manual for complete instructions on
performing maintenance on this crane.
General Inspections
All inspection and maintenance testing must be
accomplished by trained and qualified personnel in
accordance Sections 9 and 10 of this National Cranes and
Aerial Lifts Operator Manual and Service Manuals.
The inspection intervals listed below are to be conducted on
the equipment to ensure safe and proper operation. Refer to
the Service Manual when installing missing or loose
fasteners. Should a deficiency be found, a determination
must be made as to whether the deficiency is a safety hazard
or though not yet a safety hazard, needs to be monitored in
the monthly inspections.
The inspections are separated into the following frequency
classifications:
Daily inspections - performed by the operator at the start
of the day.
Weekly inspections - performed by the operator.
Monthly inspections - performed by maintenance
personnel.
Periodic inspections - performed by maintenance
personnel at least every three months and includes all
items listed under daily, weekly, and monthly
inspections. Federal Laws through OSHA and ASME
B30.5 require that dated and signed records of these
periodic inspections be kept. An inspection log book is
available from your National Crane distributor or
Manitowoc Crane Care.
Daily Inspections/Pre-use
Check the following items:
1. Engine oil level.
2. Hydraulic oil level.
