service.Extremelydustyconditionsmayrequiremorefre-
quentserviceintervals.
1.Pulltheprimaryelement(1)fromthecanister.Clean
anyloosedirtfromthecanisterandinspecttheendof
thecanisterfordirtwhichmaypreventthenewelement
fromsealingproperly.
2.Cleantheprimaryelementusinglowairpressure(

Kg/cm²(30
psi)orless).Blowdustfromtheinsideto
theoutsideoftheelement(oppositetonormalairow
throughelement).
NOTICE:Becarefulnottorupturethelterelement.Main-
tainasafedistancebetweentheairnozzleandthelter
elementwhendirectingairupanddownthecleanairside
oftheelementpleats.
3.Aftercleaningtheelement,checktheinnerdiameter
sealsfordamage.Ifdamageispresent,replacethe
primaryelement.
4.Reinstalltheprimaryelementbyinsertingitintothe
canisterandpushingontheendoftheelementuntil
itisseatedagainstthecanister.
NOTE:Placealightinsidetheelementtocheckforpaper
leaksorforbondingofthepapertotheendplate.Ifany
leaksarefound,replacetheelement.
NOTE:Ifelementisnotinsertedfarenoughintocanister,
theendcapcannotbeinstalled.
5.Placetheendcapontothecanisterbody,pushinon
endcap,androtateclockwise.Makesuretheendcap
islockedinplaceandnotloose.
NOTICE:Nevertaptheelementwithhardobjectsor
againstahardsurface.Thismaydentorbreaktheele-
mentendcapseals.
NOTICE:Failuretoobtainagoodsealbetweenelements
andthecanistermaycausemajorenginedamage.
