Storingthetractor
Belowisalistofprotectivemeasureswhichshouldbe
takenifyourtractoristobestoredforanextendedperiod
oftime:
1.Thoroughlycleanthetractor.Usetouchuppaintwhere
necessarytopreventrust.
2.Checkthetractorforwornordamagedparts.Install
newpartsasrequired.
3.Raisetheliftarmshydraulicallytotheirfullestraised
positionsothattheliftpistonisinafullyextendedpo-
sition.Thisllsthecylinderwithoilandprotectsthe
cylinderwallsurfacesfromcorrosion.
4.Lubricatethetractor.
5.FillthefueltankwithNo.1dieselfuel.
NOTICE:DonotuseNo.2dieselfuelforwinterstorage
becauseofwaxseparationandsettingatlowtemperature.
6.Openthedrainvalveoftheradiatorandengineblock.
Flushthesystem,closethedrainvalves,andllwitha
50/50solutionofpermanentantifreezeandclearwater.
7.Removethebatteryandcleanitthoroughly.Besure
thatitisfullychargedandthattheelectrolyteisatthe
properlevel.Storethebatteryinacool,dryplace
abovefreezingtemperature,andchargeitperiodically
duringstorage.
8.Placeblockingunderthetractoraxlestoremovethe
weightfromthetires.
9.Covertheexhaustpipeopening.
10.Depresstheclutchpedal,engagethelatch(1)withthe
pin(2)locatedontheclutchpedal.Whentheclutch
pedalislockedinthisposition,theclutchdiscwillbe
separatedfromtheywheel.
NOTE:Theleftsidecoverhastoberemovedtogainac-
cesstotheclutchpedallatch.
