thebeltpulleys,acorrectlytightenedbeltwilldeect5

in).atpoint(A).
Ifthefanbeltisslipping,fanefciencyislowered,resulting
intheenginerunningtoohot.orthealternatornotcharging
Ifthebeltistootight,thelifeofthealternatorbearingwill
beshortened.Ifthefanbeltshowssignsofcrackingor
fraying,installanewone.

Toadjustfanandalternatorbelttension:
1.Loosenthetwobolts(2)onthealternator,usinga
prybar,pullthealternatorawayfromtheengineto
applytensiontobelt.
2.Whenproperbelttensionisachieved,tightenthe
twoalternatorbolts.
Airpumpbelt
Thebelt(3)thatdrivestheengineairpumpislocatedat
thefrontoftheengine.

Toadjustairpumpbelttension:

2.Rotateadjustmentbolt(5)clockwisetotightenor
counterclockwisetoloosenthebelttension.
3.Whenproperbelttensionisachieved,tightenair
pumpmountingbolt.

NOTE:Iftheairpumpbeltisslipping,pumpefciencyislowered.Resultinginthe(DPF)burningnotoperatingat
ahighenoughtemperatureordifcultyinstartingburner.Ifthebeltistootight,thelifeofthepumpbearingwillbe
