5-4 Operation
Printer Indicators
When power is on, the printer has four indicator lights that provide a visual
cue to the printer’s current state.
Indicator Function
POWER When the green POWER indicator light is illuminated,
the printer is ready to operate. Assuming the printer is
properly set up and a label has been downloaded or a
test pattern has been selected pressing the PRINT/PAUSE
key will cause printing to begin.
PRINT/PAUSE If the PRINT/PAUSE key is pressed to pause the printer,
the green indicator light adjacent to the key will
illuminate. It will remain illuminated to remind you that
the printer is in the PAUSE state, until you either resume
printing, cancel the print request, or power off the
printer. This light will also illuminate when the printer
pauses due to an error, such as a media or ribbon out
condition.
DATA The amber DATA indicator light flashes whenever the
printer is receiving data from the host computer.
ERROR The red ERROR indicator light illuminates whenever an
error condition has occurred. An additional message may
be displayed on the LCD display to indicate the nature of
the error.
The alphanumeric LCD display provides detailed information about the
operational status of the printer, menu functions, or specific information
about error conditions.
