8 Service and Maintenance

Ensure mains electrical power is off during any maintenance and
service activities.
8.1 Maintenance

PROCEDURE FREQUENCY
Inspect electrical power cords and plugs for general condition. Regularly
FTM users: Check the status of the FTM (see page 42) and
replace when necessary (see page 68).
Regularly
Check and clean the glass chamber and the 'L' gaskets as required,
using a lint-free tissue and foam cleanser, or similar.
Do not use vacuum grease on 'L' gaskets.
Monthly
QT150T S and QT150T ES only: Check the condition of the target
material. The wear will depend on use. This is mainly over an
outer annulus, accounting for some 70% of the surface area.
Monthly
Check vacuum pump oil level Monthly
Change oil using 1 litre of supergrade 'A'. 6 Monthly
Check oil mist filter for saturation. This is a disposable plastic filter
and cannot be reactivated.
6 Monthly or more
