YoucandefineaVLANIDformanagementtrafficseparation.Youshouldconfigurethesystem
topreventconflictsasdetailedbelow.
Whenconfiguredforthedefaultoperationalmode,a“Providerport ” willhandleingress
trafficasfollows:
• FiltersframesthatarenottaggedwiththeProviderVLANID
• RemovestheProviderdoubletag
Therefore,ifaportisconfiguredformanagementtrafficseparationbyVLANandas‘Provider
port’,thenthereceivedmanagementframesmustbedoubletaggedasfollows:
• TheoutertaghastobetheProvider’stag(sotheframeisnotfiltered)
• TheinternaltaghastobemanagementVLANID
Toavoidmix‐ups,bestpracticeisto:
• Separatethemanagementanddataports
• DefineonlyadataportwithProviderfunction
AllIDU‐CandIDU‐EmodelshavetwoLANportssoyoucaneasilyseparatemanagementand
Ethernetservice.
