withinnormallimits.T ohelpmitigatethisoccurrenceitisrecommendedthat
wheninstallinginanabovedecksenvironmenttheAxiomXL24ismounted
inalocationprotectedfromdirectsunlighte.g.:underneathahardtopor

Otherfactorsthatcanhelptoreducethesurfacetemperatureofyourdisplay
includeensuringsufficientairflowaroundthedisplayandreducingtheLCD’s
brightnesslevel.
6.4GNSS(GPS)locationrequirements
Y ourproductincludesabuilt-inGNSS(GPS)receiverthat,inordertoobtain
apositionfix,requiresconnectionofanexternalpassiveantenna,suchas
theGA150antenna.
Ensureyoufollowthelocationrequirementsspecifiedinyourexternal
antenna’sinstallationinstructions.
6.5Touchscreenlocationrequirements

ouchscreenperformancecanbeaffectedbytheinstallationenvironment,
specificallyT ouchscreendisplaysinstalledabovedecks,whereitwillbe
opentotheelementsmayexhibitthefollowing:
•HotT ouchscreentemperature—Ifthedisplayismountedwhereitwill
beexposedtoprolongedperiodsofdirectsunlight,thetouchscreen
maybecomehot.
•ErroneousTouchscreenperformance—Exposuretoprolongedrainand
/orwaterwashovermaycausethedisplaytorespondto‘falsetouches’,
causedbytherain/waterhittingthescreen.
If,duetotherequiredinstallationlocation,exposuretotheseelementsis
anticipatedthenitisrecommendedthatyouconsider:
•InstallingaremotekeypadsuchastheRMK-10andoperatingthedisplay
remotely—Touch-onlydisplays.
•LockingtheT ouchscreenandusingthephysicalbuttonsinstead—
HybridTouchdisplays.
•Attachingathird-party‘displayhoodaccessory’toreducedirectsunlight
exposureandthevolumeofwaterthatthedisplayisexposedto.
6.6Wirelesslocationrequirementsforoptimum
performance
Allwirelessdevicesinyoursystemmustbelocatedinsuchawaythatthey
canreliablyreceiveand/ortransmitwirelesssignals.
Anumberoffactorscaninfluencewirelessperformance.Forexample,
physicalobstaclesandcertainvesselstructuresandmaterialscanall
negativelyimpactwirelessperformance.Therefore,it’simportanttochecka
product’swirelessperformanceatthedesiredinstallationlocationbefore
drillinganymountingholes.
