SYMPTOMS
The following symptoms may occur.
Toner replacement alert does not disappear after replacing with a new toner cartridge
SC361
CAUSE
This problem has two causes, and with both causes, SC361 may also be triggered.
Cause 1: Initial symptom After the PDCU is replaced or just after the machine is installed.
Toner concentration drops due to suspension of toner supply to the development unit after the
coil in the toner supply hopper is twisted and broken. This occurs after the PDCU is replaced
or just after the machine is installed.
Depending on how the PDCU is installed, in some cases, the toner hopper shutter may not
open. If the toner hopper is then driven with the shutter closed, more toner is inside the tube,
which places a greater load on the coil. This can cause the coil to warp and break.
Note: Since this symptom may occur depending on variation in setting the PCDUs, please
check and follow the correct installation procedure for PCDUs by referring to page 6 of this RTB.
