Bleeding the Fuel System
1. Prepare the machine for maintenance.
2. Ensure that the fuel tank is at least half full.
3. Open the hood.

4. Open the air-bleed screw on the fuel-
injection pump.
5. Turn the ignition key to the O
N position.
Note: The electric fuel pump runs, forcing air
out around the air-bleed screw.
6. Tighten the screw and turn the ignition key to
the O
FF position.
7. Close and latch the hood.
Cleaning the Fuel-Pickup Tube Screen
Removing the Fuel-Pickup Tube
The fuel-pickup tube, located inside the fuel tank, is equipped with a screen to help prevent
debris from entering the fuel system. Remove the fuel-pickup tube and clean the screen as
required.
1. Prepare the machine for maintenance.

2. Remove the 5 screws that secure the fuel-
sender cover
to the fuel tank , and
remove the cover.
