Note
Functional check and repair of the optical and acoustic oil pres‐
sure warning ⇒ Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and
Fitting locations.
Test conditions:
• Oil level OK, checking ⇒ page 131
• Engine oil temperature at least 80°C (radiator fan must have
run once)
• On vehicles with automatic gearbox the selector lever must be
in “P” or “N” position.
Checking oil pressure switch:
– Remove noise insulation ⇒ General body repairs, exterior;
Rep. gr. 66 ; Noise insulation; Assembly overview - noise in‐
sulation .
– Remove oil pressure switch - F1- and screw into tester.
– Screw tester into oil filter bracket in place of oil pressure
switch.
Note
Note the installation position of the adapter: the conical union of
the adapter must be screwed to the pressure hose of the tester.
– Connect brown wire of tester to earth (-).
