Fault Code Register
When a malfunction is discovered, the helmsman is warned by a sound alarm and at the same time a message is
shown in the display.
This chapter gives a more detailed description of the messages together with suggested actions to take.
Depending what display is installed the fault message is shown differently.
Contact your Volvo Penta dealer if the fault remains after trying the corrective actions associated with the fault. In
contact with dealer, it can be use useful to read out DTC (diagnostic trouble codes) stored in the display. See
chapter Displays for more information on how to read out DTC.
Button fault
Reason: A button on a panel or a control is stuck.
Action: Locate the button and press to release.
BCM inconsistent SW
Reason: Incompatible software in Battery Control Module (BCM).
Action: Contact a Volvo Penta workshop.
BCM high voltage
Reason: Voltage is crtically high in the Battery Control Module (BCM).
Action: Contact a Volvo Penta workshop.
BCM low voltage
Reason: Low voltage in Battery Control Unit (BCM).
Action: Check battery.
Check BCM temperature
Reason: High temperature in the ECU.
Action: Reduce or turn of load.
Low voltage battery 1
Reason: Communication fault in Battery Control Module 1.
Action: Contact a Volvo Penta workshop.
Low voltage battery 2
Reason: Communication fault in Battery Control Module 2.
Action: Contact a Volvo Penta workshop.
Battery Guard Activated
Reason: The battery guard has been activated.
Action: Contact a Volvo Penta workshop.
Battery voltage shutdown
Reason: The battery voltage has been abruptly shutdown, without first turning off the ignition.
Action: Use ignition to shutdown the engines.
Battery voltage shutdown
Reason: Internal fault in battery,
Action: Contact a Volvo Penta workshop as soon as possible.
