Electrical System
The engine is equipped with a 2-pole electrical system
and an alternator.
WARNING!
Always stop the engine and break the current using the
main switches before working on the engine.
IMPORTANT:
Contact a Volvo Penta dealer for information if any arc
welding will be performed on the application.
Arc welding can cause damage to the engine and the
electronics.
IMPORTANT:
Always investigate the cause of the overload. If the
fuse trips frequently, contact an authorized Volvo
Penta workshop.
Engine and EVC system
The engine and EVC system are fitted with
semiautomatic circuit breakers. The circuit breaker cut
the power if the system is overloaded.
If it is not possible to start the engine or if the instrument
stops working while running, the circuit breaker may
have been activated.
Reset by pressing in the red circuit breaker (2 and 3).
Powertrim and Steering pumps
Engines fitted with a drive have a semiautomatic circuit
breaker for the Power Trim engine.
If the Power Trim system is overloaded, the circuit
breaker cuts the power. Reset by pressing in the circuit
breaker (1).
Electrical Connections
Check that electrical connections are dry, free from
oxide, and that they are securely tightened.
