Emergency Steering
Engine limp home
Valid only for single installations with DPI
If there is a fault in the steering system, the steering is
locked, the gear disconnected and the engine goes to
idle. An error message is shown in the display.
To regain control and be able to continue to an
appropriate port, the engine can be put in Limp home-
mode.
•
Place the gear in neutral. The steering is unlocked
but heavier than normal and the maximum engine
speed is limited to 1500 rpm.
IMPORTANT:
Avoid steering the drive to its end positions for an
extended period of time as it can damage the drive.
If the fault persists after restart, the engine remains in
Limp home-mode.
Emergency Steering DPI
If a fault occurs which prevents a propulsion unit from
being operated, it is for single installations possible to
align the propulsion unit for straight forward operation
manually using a special tool. The tool is delivered in a
special tool box together with the boat.
For twin installations, the second driveline acts as back
up.
NOTICE! For safety reasons, the alignment procedure
must be carried out with the gear disengaged. The
vessel must not make speed through water.
WARNING!
Working with or approaching a running engine is a
safety risk. Watch out for rotating components and hot
surfaces.
Wear hearing protection when in the engine room as
there is a risk of harmful sound levels.
