Chain backlash check (04_38)
To check backslash:
•
Stop the engine.
•
Place the vehicle on its stand.
•
Set the gear level to neutral.
•
Check that the vertical oscilla-
tion, between the pinion and the
crown in the lower chain branch,
is about 25 - 35 mm (0.99 - 1.38
in)
•
Move the vehicle forward so as
to also check the chain vertical
oscillation in other positions;
clearance should remain con-
stant during all wheel rotation
phases.
CAUTION
IF CLEARANCE IS GREATER AT
SOME POSITIONS, THIS MEANS
THAT SOME CHAIN LINKS ARE FLAT-
TENED OR JAMMED.
TO AVOID THE RISK OF SEIZURE, LU-
BRICATE THE CHAIN ON A REGULAR
BASIS.
Controle van de speling van de
ketting (04_38)
Voor de controle van de speling:
•
Leg de motor stil.
•
Plaats het voertuig op de stan-
daard.
•
Plaats de versnellingshendel in
vrij.
•
Controleer of de verticale
schommeling in een punt tussen
het rondsel en de kroon op de
onderkant van de ketting zich
tussen 25-35 mm (0.99 - 1.38 in)
bevindt.
•
Verplaats het voertuig vooruit,
zodat de verticale schommeling
van de ketting ook in andere po-
sities kan gecontroleerd wor-
den; de speling moet in alle
fasen van de rotatie van het wiel
constant blijven.
LET OP
ALS IN BEPAALDE POSITIES EEN
GROTERE SPELING AANWEZIG IS,
ZIJN ER VERPLETTERDE OF VAST-
GELOPEN SCHAKELS AANWEZIG.
