Routine Maintenance
When to Replace Ink Tank and Maintain Print Head
When an ink tank is empty, it must be replaced.
The BJ Status Monitor (Windows) or the BJ Print Monitor (Macintosh) will initially advise
you of a low ink level. At this stage, you can still continue to print.
Once an ink tank is empty, the BJ Status Monitor (Windows) or the BJ Print Monitor
(Macintosh) will tell you to replace the ink tank. Attempting to print causes the POWER
lamp to flash four times.
Replacing an Ink Tank
If printing becomes faint or a specific colour is no longer printing, even though there is still
enough ink, the print head nozzles are probably clogged. Follow the procedures below to
clean the nozzles.
