Manual removal (emergency removal)

In the event of a power failure or damage to the drive, you can remove the data carrier manually.

► Switch your notebook off.
► Push a pen o r a piece of w ire (such as a
paperclip) fi rmly into the opening (1).
The drive tray is ejecte d. You can now pull
the drive tray (2) out of the drive.
Removing and fitting the dust removal cover
(ventilation slot cover)
In order to ensure optimum cooling of the compone nts in your notebook, you
should periodically clean the v entilation slot of the heatsink.
This ensures optimum fan performance. You can achieve the best cleaning
results with a small hand-held vacuum cleaner.
If necessary, you can also use a dry brush to release dust from the ventilation slots.
Do not use a ny cleaning liquids! Ensure that no liquid enters the device.
To avoid overheating of the device , do not remove the ventilation slot
cover when the device is switched on.
